About the District

The Ecclesiastical District of Our Lady of Hope – Bahrain serves as a community of faith committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, strengthening Christian fellowship, and providing spiritual and pastoral support to the faithful living and working in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Inspired by the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title Our Lady of Hope, the district seeks to be a sign of faith, hope, charity, and unity, particularly among migrant and expatriate communities. This emphasis fits the wider Christian context of Bahrain and the Gulf, where Catholic communities are notably diverse and include many migrant workers. Contemporary Catholic sources describe Marian devotion in the region as a source of unity and hope for Christians living away from their homelands.

Mission

The district seeks to:

Proclaim and witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Provide opportunities for worship, prayer, spiritual formation, and pastoral care.

Support missionary, charitable, and formation activities.

Encourage lay participation and the development of ministries serving the Church and the wider community.

Foster Christian unity, mutual respect, peace, and responsible witness within Bahrain's multicultural and multireligious society.
